Thrifty Gifty Shop
Hours We Are Open
The Thrifty Gifty Shop at Or HaOlam Messianic Synagogue is staffed by volunteers only.
At present we are open Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. However, we can also arrange to be open on other days by appointment by calling this number: Click here. We will always be closed on Shabbat.
The purpose of the Thrifty Gifty Shop is to be a fundraiser for our building fund. There are a few benefits that branch out of this purpose, and they are:
1. We can make available to our people slightly used and in good condition household and Judaica items at a reduced price.
2. By recycling these items to good homes we are helping the environment.
3. We are providing an outlet and motivation for people who need to clean out their attics, garages, basements, closets or wherever, and feel good about getting rid of unwanted items that are too good to throw away.
4. It can be a place where visitors can connect with us.
Our Policy is to receive donated items only, to be offered for sale in the gift shop which will benefit Or HaOlam Messianic Congregation’s building fund. All staff in the shop are volunteers who receive no monetary remuneration. All items donated for sale are researched and sold at below market value. Our small thrift shop will be available to anyone who is able to come, browse and purchase.
What's in the Thrifty Gifty Shop?
We have been very blessed to have had some lovely donations recently:
We have kosher chocolate gelt made in Belgium. Also some homemade crispy, crunchy delicious caramel corn. And then there's some very nice jewelry: earrings of all sizes and colors, necklaces and pendants, too. All at bargain prices!
We have puzzles for children, coffee mugs and cake decorating items. We have some pretty bone china and teacups and crystal vases and candlesticks. Be sure to check out our greeting cards, lamps and music CD's and videos.
We have jackets, skirts and tops, dresses, belts and scarves.
