May 25, Thursday evening, 7:00 p.m.  תִּקּוּן לֵיל שָׁבוּעוֹת

Tikkun Leil Shavuot - Repair of the Night of Shavuot: Study, Prayer, and Dairy Fest.

The Tikkun is a late night evening of prayer and study sessions interspersed with dairy

Wheat, Torah, & Ruakh outpouring; the scriptural themes of Shavuot

treats (and coffee). Begins at 7:00 p.m.  The traditional topics are the book of Ruth, and the opening a closing verses of any Shabbat portion.  As believers in Messiah, we also celebrate the giving of the Ruakh, the Spirit, on this day.  So studying the fruit of the Spirit, life in the Spirit, is appropriate.  The Ten Commandments were given on Shavuot, so it is customary to have food that reflects the “milk of the Word.”

Therefore, cheesecakes, cheese blintzes, cheese kugel, and cheese kreplach would be wonderful.  See recipes on recipe page of website.  Scroll down to Shavuot recipes.  Veggies or salads and dips, nachos and cheese, chips and dip, cheese danish, etc., would all be appropriate at the Tikkun.

About Or HaOlam

Or HaOlam teaches Jewish life in the Messiah of Israel. We are part of a world-wide movement of Jewish Congregations and people of all ethnic groups who follow Yeshua (Jesus) in the context of Jewish lifestyle and identity. We meet weekly every Saturday morning at 10 am.

The Vision of Or HaOlam:

Working to bring Jewish people, and those grafted in, to their covenantal identity in Messiah.  Implies: 1.) Salvation through the Atonement of the Messiah; personal faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Yeshua; it's all about the King  2.) Covenantal identity of Jewish people, not replacement  3.) Restoration to Torah lifestyle  4.) Restoration/survival of the nation of Israel. (Covenantal identity, so Jewish believers don't assimilate.  Romans 11:15 "For if their casting Yeshua aside means reconciliation for the world, what will their accepting him mean?  It will be life from the dead!)
