Shakharit-Tefillin

Shakharit-Tefillin (Morning Prayer) service will be at 8:30 am Wednesday, April 23 here at the shul. This service is for both men and women interested in learning-by-doing a more traditional, albeit Messianic, shakharit-tefillin service. We use Danny Ben Gigi’s First Steps in Hebrew Prayer Siddur as our format. Men, bring tefillin if you have them.

Please donate to bless our youth group

Earlier this month, they attended the MJAA/YMJA retreat in Texas. There were nine youth who attended with three adult chaperones, including youth leader Marcos Acosta. Indicate “youth” when you donate.

Golda's Balcony

Golda's Balcony is a one-woman show which includes reflections on the story's relevance to today's dynamic in Israel, October 7th, Zionism, and the nature of a fragmented American Israeli identity. Discussions will follow each performance: Saturday, April 26, 7:30 pm and Sunday, April 27 at 4 pm, at The White Theater on the Jewish Community Center campus. To purchase tickets.

Or haOlam is 30! We’ll celebrate on Shabbat, May 3

Or HaOlam was started in the home of Richard and Carol Halula on Purim of 1995. We were not legally incorporated yet, but that was Shmuel’s first Messianic synagogal message, and the emotional sense of the work hasn't changed much since then. The first incorporated service was Rosh HaShanah of 1995. So we have picked a day between those dates to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the kehilah. Please mark May 3 for special activities, honors and blessings – particularly if you are one of the early congregants with memories to share.

National Day of Prayer

National Day of Prayer will be Thursday, May 1, noon-1 pm at Thompson Park, 8045 Santa Fe Dr., downtown Overland Park. Rabbi Shmuel will lead the group in prayer for the church and Israel.

The Vision of Or HaOlam:

Working to bring Jewish people, and those grafted in, to their covenantal identity in Messiah.  Implies: 1.) Salvation through the Atonement of the Messiah; personal faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Yeshua; it's all about the King  2.) Covenantal identity of Jewish people, not replacement  3.) Restoration to Torah lifestyle  4.) Restoration/survival of the nation of Israel. (Covenantal identity, so Jewish believers don't assimilate.  Romans 11:15 "For if their casting Yeshua aside means reconciliation for the world, what will their accepting him mean?  It will be life from the dead!)
